Megan Landfair is the manager of the Virginia Harp Center of New Jersey. An accomplished harpist, she has performed as a soloist and as a member of orchestras and chamber groups throughout the United States and Canada. Landfair has received honors in several national competitions, including the Advanced and Young Professional divisions of the American Harp Society’s National competitions.
Landfair has been a frequent guest artist, teacher, and adjudicator at music festivals across the country, including Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the Richmond Summer Harp Institute, LMTA’s Harp Rally, the Southwest Harp Festival, RVA Harp Day, and the Mid Atlantic Harp Day.
She began studying the harp in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA with harpist, Lucy Scandrett. In 2004 she earned her B.A. in Harp Performance from the University of Toronto under the tutelage of world-renowned harpist Judy Loman. In 2014 Landfair completed her Doctorate in Harp Performance from Indiana University, earning a double minor in Music Education and Arts Administration. While at Indiana University, she studied with Distinguished Professor of Music Susann McDonald.
Currently, Landfair maintains a thriving private harp studio at the Virginia Harp Center of New Jersey. She frequently performs with
her husband who is a classical guitarist and is enjoying an active performance schedule throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
